SAFEGUARDING

Professional boundaries and age-appropriate delivery.

Public principles for services involving children and young people.

CHILDREN & YOUNG PEOPLE

Safeguarding should be designed into delivery.

Specific safeguarding arrangements depend on the service, learner age, country, venue and delivery model. These public principles do not replace any contract-specific or legally required safeguarding measures.

Appropriate communication

Communications involving minors should follow approved channels and agreed parent/guardian arrangements.

Role boundaries

Tutors and facilitators should maintain professional boundaries and avoid private personal-contact arrangements outside approved processes.

Parent/guardian involvement

Where required by age, delivery model or local rules, parent/guardian involvement or consent should be obtained.

Data minimisation

Only information reasonably necessary for delivery, safety and administration should be collected.

Portal permissions

Student, parent, tutor and administrator views should have role-appropriate access rather than relying on cosmetic differences alone.

Concerns

Safeguarding concerns should be escalated promptly through the organisation's designated process and, where required, relevant authorities.
